About INSIGNI
INSIGNI creates one-of-one live-edge resin tables, designed and finished in the UK.
Each piece is shaped by the natural character of the material, refined through disciplined design, and completed with a focus on proportion, restraint, and longevity.
The work sits between furniture and object — functional, but considered.
Why the work exists
INSIGNI was established to explore the balance between natural material and controlled intervention.
Live-edge timber carries history, movement, and imperfection. Resin, when used with restraint, allows that character to be stabilised, framed, and preserved without overpowering it.
The intention is never to decorate the wood, but to let it speak clearly — with resin acting as structure rather than spectacle.
A considered approach
Every table begins with the material.
Each material is selected for grain flow, tone, and structural integrity before any design decisions are made.
Geometry, scale, and base selection are resolved only once the character of the material is understood. This ensures each piece feels complete, balanced, and intentional — not forced into a predetermined shape.
Finishing is carried out by hand, with an emphasis on tactile quality and long-term durability.
Studio Collection and bespoke work
INSIGNI operates across two closely related bodies of work.
The Studio Collection consists of finished tables, created independently and offered as one-of-one pieces available for immediate purchase.
Bespoke commissions are developed in collaboration with clients, allowing for material selection, scale, and design direction to be tailored to a specific space.
Both are made using the same materials, processes, and standards.
An ongoing practice
INSIGNI is not driven by trends or volume.
The focus is on producing a small number of resolved pieces, each designed to sit comfortably within its environment and improve with time.
The work is intentionally limited — allowing attention to remain on material quality, finish, and proportion rather than output.
